Shipping is through common carrier for larger items and table sets. For smaller items we use UPS. Shipping rates are for the continental United States only. Please call us for overseas shipments, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska and Canada. Shipping of larger items and sets is done on pallets. The shipping service is not indoor delivery, but curbside delivery. Indoor includes porches, patios, gazebos, back yards, decks, stairs, etc, which cannot be reached with a pallet jack. For UPS shipments, UPS will place where they normally place UPS products to you. For inside delivery there is an additional charge of at least $75. Inside delivery will only be authorized if available in your area, and if you agree to pay the additional charge.
All items are shipped FOB Lawrence, Massachusetts. The customer is responsible for receiving the shipment once it has shipped. The carrier makes several attempts to contact you. . If the carrier cannot make contact with you, the shipping liability is yours, since the shipping organization has performed their service (of getting the goods to you). The carrier normally holds the goods for up to 3 business days while trying to make contact unless otherwise arranged. If you need special arrangements please contact us or the shipping organization and we will try and accommodate your special requirements. If you refuse the shipment without prior cancellation, the shipping liability is the customer's both ways.
PLEASE NOTE ALL DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY, AND REPORT IT TO Goldenteak.com immediately (within 48 hours of receipt of goods), as well as the carrier.
ALWAYS PLEASE SIGN THE RECEIPT "SUBJECT TO INSPECTION FOR CONCEALED DAMAGE".
Please provide a digital or print photo showing the shipping damage of product and packaging. Please retain all boxes and the pallet the items came on.
Once we receive and review the photographs, Goldenteak will get back to you with an appropriate solution.
In the absence of Original Packaging (Including the Pallet) when reporting a damage, or if the damage is reported beyond 48 hours, it is not possible for Goldenteak to file a claim with the shipping carrier. The Shipping Carrier will want photographs of the products, pallet, crate etc. to process their claim, and if the claim is made after 48 hours, or without the packaging, the Shipping Carrier can claim that the damage occured after delivery. If the original packaging including pallet is not available, or if the damage is reported after 48 hours, we recommend that teh customer file a claim with the Shipping Carrier directly.
RETURNS
We at Goldenteak want you to be happy and satisfied with your teak furniture purchase. To that end, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee for residential sales. Please retain the boxes and the pallet (if any) until you are sure you want to keep the product. Product must be in unused and unassembled condition and in original packaging (including pallet) for possible return.
Goldenteak Customers have been happy with quality and design of the product since 1996. Our return rate is less than 0.1%. Therefore we do not inflate our prices to take into account return costs. While others may offer "free return shipping", you are paying 30% - 40% more for that privilege.
If you do have to do a return, please obtain a Return Authorization by calling or emailing us before returning ANY merchandise. No items will be accepted back without prior Return Authorization. Please return all materials in original NEW unweathered, unstained, unassembled, condition and original packing to avoid damage and receive a full Product refund. If the product was on a free shipping promotion, the purchase price of the product less the shipping charges incurred will be refunded.
We can arrange for the return shipping through our contract carriers, and at our discount rates, giving you the best price for return shipping.
No returns will be authorized beyond thirty (30) days after purchase of merchandise. After 30 days the item will be treated as under Warranty. Variations in wood color and grain are natural, and no returns will be authorized for natural variations in wood color and grain. No returns will be authorized for fully and permanently assembled items. Cushions are not returnable. Products that are oiled at the customer's request are not returnable. Please refer to our our assembly instructions to learn how to do a test assembly.
If you refuse an item delivered by a commercial freight company for any reason other than externally visible damaged merchandise, the items shall be treated as a return, and return shipping charges will be applied. If you have multiple items on one shipment, inspect every item before refusing the whole shipment. For example, if one item looks damaged, check the others. We can easily replace the damaged item in a separate shipment, rather than making two round trips with all the merchandise.
In the event of a return please:
a) Contact Goldenteak.com at [email protected] or 978 689 4041
b) Pack product as your received it (on a pallet, if shipped on a pallet). This is so that the product does not get damaged in shipment. If damaged in shipment to us (Goldenteak) please contact carrier and initiate appropriate claim procedures. We can assist with photographs etc. However, it is important that you pack appropriately so that merchandise arrives back at Goldenteak, The Wood Carver Inc., undamaged, in its original cartons, and unused.
c) Send Package back with shipper (shipping costs prepaid) or we can help you make the arrangements through our carriers at our discount levels (which will save you money). Return shipping costs are your responsibility.
d) Credit for purchase price of product will be given when received, inspected for damage, use etc, and processed. Damaged merchandise in a return cannot be refunded, and can be shipped back to you at your expense. Damaged cartons (indicating we cannot use them again) may be charged at carton replacement value.
e) Use clear packaging tape to secure the boxes. Cartons returned with Duct Tape packaging look ungainly for resale, and we will have to replace the whole carton at your expense. If you need to make new boxes, contact a box manufacturer in your area.
ITEMS IN TRANSIT
If ordered items are in transit to you and you cancel your order, or shipment is refused upon delivery for any reason, you will be obligated for the shipping charges to and from your location. Please contact us at Goldenteak.com or 978 689 4041 to understand your shipping costs.
