The Teak Cleaner helps remove dirt, mildew, and weathering from teak surfaces, while the Teak Protector helps preserve the honey-brown teak color for longer than teak oil and without encouraging black mildew buildup often associated with oil-based treatments.

Before You Begin

• Work in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
• Protect nearby stone, concrete, plants, fabrics, and surrounding surfaces.
• Wear gloves and eye protection.
• Always test any care product on a small, less visible area first.
• Make sure the furniture is cool to the touch and not in intense direct sun during application.

Step 1: How to Use Golden Care Teak Cleaner

Use Golden Care Teak Cleaner when your teak furniture has turned gray, looks dirty, or has accumulated mildew, grime, or old treatment residue.

Directions

1. Wet the teak thoroughly with water. The surface should be damp before cleaner is applied.
2. Shake the bottle well.
3. Apply the Teak Cleaner with a soft cloth, sponge, or soft scrub pad.
4. Allow the cleaner to sit briefly for approximately 3 minutes so it can loosen dirt and weathering.
5. Scrub gently in the direction of the wood grain. Avoid aggressive cross-grain scrubbing.
6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Make sure all residue is removed.
7. Let the teak dry completely before applying Golden Care Teak Protector.

Step 2: How to Use Golden Care Teak Protector

Use Golden Care Teak Protector after cleaning if you want to help preserve teak’s warm golden-brown color for a longer period.

Directions

1. Make sure the teak is completely clean and dry.
2. Shake the bottle well before use.
3. Test on a hidden area first to confirm you like the finished appearance.
4. Apply a thin, even coat using a lint-free cloth.
5. Do not over-apply. A thin coat is better than a heavy coat.
6. Allow the surface to dry fully. Drying usually takes several hours; allow about 24 hours before heavy use.

• Do not apply Teak Protector over teak that has been treated with teak oil unless the surface has first been properly cleaned.

• For best results, apply before the teak has fully weathered to a silvery gray color.
